Firefighters were kept busy on Sunday morning with a pair of structure fires in the area.
At 6:05 a.m., Marion County 911 received a call for a structure fire on the Husky Highway, while another call came in at 9:55 a.m. for a structure fire on Colfax Road.
Winfield District Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Mark Niggemyer said although the structure fire on Colfax Road caused minor fire damage, there was extensive smoke damage.
Niggemyer said the cause is undetermined, and he believed a resident may have possibly been treated for smoke inhalation. The fire started on the staircase, he said.
Farmington Volunteer Fire Department Chief John Sanders could not be reached for comment about the structure fire on the Husky Highway.
