Announces Promotions
The Statesboro Fire Department announced the promotion of six personnel to fill the open positions of Assistant Chief, Battalion Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant on Wednesday.
Battalion Chief Jason Baker was promoted to Assistant Chief, while Captain Merritt Kearns was promoted to Battalion Chief after both had served in those positions as interim since last December. Open company officer-level positions were filled as Brad Bouchillon and Jamie Strosnider were promoted from Lieutenant to Captain, and Fire Apparatus Operators Jon Patterson and Caleb New were promoted to Lieutenant.
The Statesboro Fire Department wishes to congratulate Assistant Chief Baker, Battalion Chief Kearns, Captains Bouchillon and Strosnider, and Lieutenants Patterson and New on their promotions; and looks forward to their leadership and work in these challenging new roles.
