MSA is the integrator of a multi-contractor effort to clean up the Hanford Site. MSA collaborates with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and all Hanford Site contractors to “move the mission forward” – finding and implementing new, cost-saving, safe and practical solutions to cleanup challenges. MSA provides quality infrastructure and site wide services at the Hanford Site. Among the services MSA provides are emergency response and training – including the Hanford Fire Department and Hanford Patrol operations – and infrastructure services, like environmental integration and land management; fleet and road maintenance; water/electric and utilities; cyber security and information management. MSA also ensures preservation of the site’s cultural artifacts.

Position Description
Our Hanford Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to play an active role in the evaluation and control of fire and life safety hazards. Provide support to the office through the review of a wide range of technical and administrative documents for compliance with Department of Energy (DOE), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other fire prevention/protection related requirements. Implement various programmatic aspects of the fire protection program. Participate in fire investigations and perform periodic facility assessments. Provide direct technical and programmatic support to MSA and other Hanford contractors through the Fire Marshal's Office.

 Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, or other Engineering discipline and 8 years related experience. 
-Demonstrate knowledge of the codes, principles, practices, and techniques in the field of Fire Protection Engineering including NFPA and regulatory codes. 
-Knowledge of fire protection design and practical application with other technical disciplines to achieve a comprehensive approach to fire prevention/protection. 
-Be a creative problem solver using recognized engineering practices. 
-Have a high level of interpersonal communications skills and computer skills. 

Desired Qualifications
-Professional Engineer (PE) Certification.
-Have working knowledge of fire protection related DOE orders, directives, and standards, NFPA codes and standards, and supplemental directives and other required fire protection related requirement documents. -Have a working knowledge of DOE programs and activities and associated fire protection requirements.
-NICET Certifications.
