Location: Emmaus, PA
The Borough of Emmaus, PA is accepting applications and resumes from qualified individuals for the position of Deputy Director of Emergency Services. This position will assist the Director with the operational and administrative functions of the Emmaus Fire and Ambulance Departments as Deputy Fire Chief. The salary range is $65,000 - $72,000. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. Emergency Services provide fire, EMS (ALS and BLS), and rescue services, as well as Emergency Management operations to a population of approximately 12,000 in a flourishing community 50 miles north of Philadelphia, located in Lehigh County.
Candidates must have at least five (5) years of documented experience in a career or combination fire department, including two (2) years in a supervisory or management capacity. College degree in a closely related field is preferred. In lieu of a college degree, consideration will be given to those that have a combination of at least fifteen (15) years of active, documented experience in a pre-hospital emergency medical services and fire department organization, with at least five (5) years in a management or supervisory capacity. Experience working in and / or managing both a volunteer and a paid fire department. Three (3) years of disaster and / or emergency planning experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additionally, candidates must have a current Emergency Medical Technician certificate and experience working in and / or managing a combination fire department or both a volunteer and a career fire department is required.
