The Village of Mount Prospect’s Fire Department is seeking to fill one full-time Public Education Officer/Fire Investigator position. This position is responsible for improving the fire safety conditions in the Village of Mount Prospect. The position is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of the Fire Department’s public education programs and goals. This position is challenged to perform multiple fire protection roles with the intent to reduce the number and severity of fires through means of education. In addition, this position is responsible for fire inspections of occupancies, (new and existing), for Village of Mount Prospect fire code compliance. This position is also responsible for origin and cause fire investigations as a member of the Village’s Fire Investigation Team. Applicants must possess an energetic and positive attitude with the ability to multi-task and interact with residents and building owners in a courteous and professional manner. Excellent verbal and written skills are a must.
