The City of Yuba City (population of just over 65,000), located 41 miles north of the State Capital, Sacramento, has developed through the years as a pleasant, residential community, which is the trading, and service center for the surrounding area. The City of Yuba City is seeking a highly qualified and seasoned professional to provide administrative leadership to the Fire Department and assist the City Manager and City Council in policy development, strategic planning, and other initiatives. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in fire science, public administration or a closely related field, master’s degree preferred, and have five (5) years of recent, broad and extensive full-time experience in all major functions of a Fire Department, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible management position. Candidates must possess a valid California Driver’s License and possession of a valid C.P.R. card. The salary for the Fire Chief is $12,461 - $15,146 monthly.
