Menlo Park Fire Protection District
Location: Menlo Park, CA
Covering 30 square miles in the southernmost part of San Mateo County including the cities of Atherton, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and select unincorporated areas, the Menlo Park Fire Protection District serves an estimated population of 90,000. The District provides services from seven fire stations and responds to approximately 9,000 emergencies each year with the support of 146 FTE.
Reporting to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the District. The ideal candidate will be an engaged manager and mentor with a history of building and maintaining strong teams. Any combination of relevant experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered qualifying. Demonstrated success in leading change will be considered favorably. A Bachelor’s degree and certification as a Chief Officer or EFO are strongly preferred. Master’s degree and/or formal leadership training is desired.
