Resident Volunteer Firefighter


Hoodland Fire District #74

Hoodland Fire District #74 is currently accepting applications for Resident Volunteer Firefighters. Resident Volunteers work closely with the District career personnel and respond to a variety of Fire and EMS calls while living at one of the District’s stations or resident quarters.  Housing, utilities, monthly stipend, and tuition reimbursement is provided. The program is designed to create and provide opportunities and experiences for those pursuing a career or have a passion for volunteering in the fire service.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years of Age
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • EMT License or higher
  • NFPA Firefighter 1 or equivalent
  • Wildland Firefighter 2 certification
  • NIMS ICS 100 and 200
  • Successful completion of a Background Check
  • Pass a Physical

  • $1600 per term tuition reimbursement

  • Volunteer incentive points when working extra shifts
  • Working/training alongside career firefighters on 48/96 schedule
  • DPSST/NFPA Certifications
  • Training to Drive & Operate Fire Engines, Brush Rigs, and Water Tenders
