Community Overview:
The City of Montesano is centrally located in Grays Harbor County in Southwest Washington. Montesano is traditionally known for its agriculture, logging, and governmental services. Montesano is the Grays Harbor County seat, home to Lake Sylvia State Park, and boasts a network of scenic hiking and biking trails in the city’s managed forest land.

Department Overview:
The Montesano Fire Department provides fire and EMS services to approximately 4500 citizens in an 11-square mile service area. The Department provides emergency response to incidents involving fire, basic and advanced life support emergency medical services, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials, and fulfills other requests for service. Montesano Fire Department responded to and mitigated 1850 calls for service in 2019. 

The Department is combination fire department operating out of one station and consisting of 30 Volunteer Firefighters/EMTs, four Captain/Paramedics, one Firefighter/Paramedic, one Ambulance Billing Clerk and the Fire Chief.

Our department is seeking a strong leader with vision and creativity to serve as the new Fire Chief. The Chief is responsible for the total operation of the fire department. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, developing budgets, hiring employees, setting department goals, allocating expenditures, responding to emergency incidents, and personnel management.
