FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTER - PARAMEDIC

The agency operates a combination system and provides response to fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and wildland incidents. The agency runs ALS ambulances and provides transport services to two Level II trauma centers in the valley. The communities of Snowmass Village, Basalt, El Jebel, Old Snowmass, and Thomasville all rely on RFFR for 24/7 emergency services.
FT Firefighter/Paramedic:
RFFRA is looking to hire a one (1) full time Firefighter-Paramedic.
General Responsibilities:
The Firefighter/Paramedic under supervision, provides assistance with fire suppression, hazardous material response, rescue operations and Advanced Life Support emergency medical services; operated appropriate Authority apparatus dependent on emergency response; participates in fire training, fire prevention, public education, and station and equipment maintenance activities.
Location: Roaring Fork Fire Rescue Authority
Work Schedule: 48/96 hour shift set schedule, plus events and call-backs as available.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following minimum qualifications*
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Valid Colorado Emergency Medical Paramedic certification or higher, or National Registry of Emergency Medical Paramedic certification, obtained within two (2) months of hire
3. Valid Colorado Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
RT 9-2020
4. Valid Colorado or IFSAC or Pro-Board Fire Fighter I certification or higher
5. Valid Colorado Hazmat Materials Operations certification or higher
6. S-130/190 & red-card, or ability to obtain prior to December 15, 2020
7. ICS 100, ICS 200 and NIMS 700 or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Applicants with out-of-state certifications for qualifications listed above, must be able to obtain the required Colorado certifications within one year of hire.
The Fire Chief may establish an eligibility list of qualified candidates. Candidates that are placed on the eligibility list will be notified of such. Eligibility lists are valid for up to 6 months, however the Fire Chief reserves the right to re-test and establish a new list at any time.

Starting Salary: Salary range is $64,200.21 to $72,225.24 BOQ
