St. Paul Fire District
Location: St. Paul, OR
St Paul Fire District provides fire and EMS service to a 42 sq/mile farming community located in the Northwestern corner of Marion county. Currently, we are looking for paramedics to work on a part-time basis with our volunteer personnel to provide BLS/ALS service in our community.
Job Summary:
As an On-Duty Paramedic with St. Paul Fire District you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls in our local ASA. You will deliver high-quality, professional patient care and customer service in accordance with the local scope of practice, established protocols, and company policy.
This is a part-time position, and you will be expected to work 3-4 shifts a month. Starting pay is $15/hour with a larger raise expected in July.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
•
Respond to BLS and ALS service calls
•
Assess and monitor the condition of ill and or injured patients.
•
Provide basic and advance life-support, including comprehensive patient assessment, invasive airway management, cardiac monitoring, and administration of medications.
•
Provide an immediate course of treatment in route to the hospital or receiving facility
•
Liaison with members of other facilities, such as police, fire, hospitals, and other ambulance services to ensure appropriate level of response is provided.
•
Interact with members of the general public as well as family members present at the scene.
•
Clean, decontaminate and checked vehicles and equipment to maintain a state of operational readiness.
•
Assist with patient care in hospitals or healthcare centers.
•
Produce thorough patient document reports including the patient's history, condition, and treatment.
•
Responsible for other related duties deem necessary to meet the needs of St Paul Fire District.
Minimum Qualifications:
•
Confidence in accepting the challenge and high degree of responsibility entailed in this position.
•
Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
•
Possess analytical skills and the capability of applying them efficiently in stressful situations.
•
Ability to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient.
•
Ability to act independently in a consistently changing environment.
•
Maintain composure while working in stressful situations.
•
Capable of adapting to situations that may contain violence and emotional bill emotional instability in a multi-cultural setting
•
One year of experience delivering ALS care
•
ACLS or equivalent certification
•
PALS or equivalent certification
