Defensible Space Program Coordinator


Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal

The Oregon State Police and Office of State Fire Marshal invites all qualified applicants to apply for the Defensible Space Program Coordinator. 
With the passing of Senate Bill 762, the Office of State Fire Marshal was mandated to adopt a statewide minimum defensible space code. 

 

The Defensible Space Program Coordinator will primarily be responsible for identifying and developing long-range plans, goals, objectives and milestones related to the development, implementations, administration and maintenance of the Oregon Defensible Space Program to support a network of over 300 fire departments across Oregon. Successful candidate will be consistently applying and interpreting the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) code to improve wildfire resiliency by removing or reducing the risk to communities and first responders. Successful candidate will maintain the role as liaison with the public, related state agencies, and fire service organizations.
