Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing and directing the Operations Division of the Fire Department. This includes, among other things, direct supervision of assigned Battalions, Divisions, and associated personnel. In the absence of the Fire Chief, assumes responsibilities of the Fire Chief when designated. Provides expert professional assistance to City management staff in areas of expertise. Fosters cooperative working relationships with citizen groups, and other agencies on fire and EMS matters. This position is a member of the Executive Management team of the Fire Department. This position reports directly to the Fire Chief, but the individual must take initiative and exercise independent judgment.
