Job Summary:
The Whatcom County Executive's Office, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division is accepting applications for a Data Analyst.
The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Analyst provides data analysis, application administration, technical expertise and user support for the regional Whatcom County Emergency Medical Services (WCEMS) data and information systems. Duties include:
· Administers and supports Electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) and other software systems for the regional Medical Services (EMS) program. Performs application administration, integration, design and implementation.
· Analyzes health data for emergence of trends related to the regional EMS program.
· Provides management and EMS agencies with regular analytic reports and data to support an annual assessment of overall EMS system performance. Uses GIS/ARC programs and integration of data from various reporting platforms to evaluate system response.
· Researches, evaluates, recommends, plans and integrates appropriate application tools and current and emerging EMS technologies for regional EMS projects.
· Serves as a technical resource to help implement, integrate and support applications and systems that connect multiple Fire / EMS agencies as assigned.
· Provides technical support for the ongoing operation of and upgrades to regional Electronic Medical Records systems such as ImageTrend and Julota software.
· Answers highly complex questions and complaints and provides on-demand customer support to EMS Electronic Records Management Systems users, including operational and application related support. Acts as liaison between system users, various software vendors and County Information Technology as needed.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Computer Science, Health Care Informatics or a related field AND four years of progressively responsible experience in in data analysis and reporting, supporting software applications in a large multi-site environment and including experience with emergency medical systems.
- Experience with electronic Patient Care Reporting systems and familiarity of ArcGIS geographic information systems (GIS) software is preferred.
- Health Informatics background to support EMS applications is preferred.
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) desired.
