DEPARTMENT OVERVIEWNorth Kitsap Fire & Rescue (NKF&R) is a fire protection district serving the communities of Hansville, Kingston, Indianola, Miller Bay and Suquamish on the northeastern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula. NKF&R provides all-hazards emergency response and community risk reduction services.
In addition, NKF&R is especially committed to training, education and community engagement. When crews aren’t responding, they are often drilling at the district’s training tower or around their stations. NKF&R is also active in the community, continuously seeking opportunities to meet its mission through prevention and to add value between emergencies. NKF&R has been very successful with ballot measures, earning 73% for its 2018 excess levy (maintenance and operations) proposal and nearly 79% in its 2019 EMS levy renewal.
