Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is currently hiring ONE Firefighter/EMT position,
and establishing a list for hiring TWO more positions within the next 2 months.
The list will be maintained for 12 months. All National Testing Network testing and PHQ must be completed by May 26, 2023.
Candidates must also complete a department application, found at www.nrfpd.com.

Salary Information: $47,040.84 - $48,452.07

Department Overview: Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is a combination fire agency.
The District is governed by a five-member elected Board of Directors. We provide Fire and
Emergency Medical Services, Technical Rescue, and other public services. The District maintains
6 stations and 24 emergency vehicles.
Area Information: The District provides fire and emergency services to over 125 sq. miles of
incorporated and over 350 sq. miles of unincorporated area for South Tillamook County. The District starts at MP 76 on Hwy 101 and goes east to MP 11 on Hwy 22. To the South the district stops at the
Lincoln County line and then goes West to the Pacific Ocean running back up the coast to Cape
Lookout. We share borders and Mutual Aid with Tillamook Fire, Netarts-Oceanside Fire, West
Valley/Sheridan, and North Lincoln Fire.
Population: The Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District provides fire suppression, emergency
medical service and public education to approximately 5,000 full time residents and untold
thousands of visitors to the Oregon Coast each year. We respond to an average of 1,000 calls for
service each year from six stations located in Pacific City (Station 82), Beaver (Station 83),
Neskowin (Station 84), Sandlake (Station 85), Blaine (Station 86) and Hebo (Station 87).
Although our district boundaries cover approximately 125 square miles, we respond
to incidents in unprotected areas covering over 350 square miles including Oregon Department
of Forestry land and the US Forest lands.

College: No
Prior Experience: None; Prior Fire/EMS experience preferred.
Necessary Certifications:
• NFPA Firefighter 1
• NFPA Driver
• Apparatus Pumper Operator (Within 1 year after hire date)
• Hazardous Materials Operations
• EMT (Oregon Health Authority License)
• ICS 100,200,700,800
• Current CPAT

Packet. Applicants must complete the FireTEAM examination administered by National
Testing Network (NTN) and required PHQ by May 26, 2023.

Veterans and Volunteer preference points: Veterans: preference points will be applied to

Volunteers: Preference points will be applied to volunteers with NRFPD and in good standing
for at least 1 year.
