Bend Fire & Rescue

Bend Fire & Rescue is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Positions are regular, full-time, and are represented by the Bend Firefighters Association (BFA). Bend Fire & Rescue is actively recruiting for five (5) positions and this recruitment will also be used to establish an eligibility list.  The eligibility list may be canceled at any time, at the discretion of the City. 

Bend Fire Department is the largest fire department in Central Oregon. The Department protects approximately 164 square miles in the fire service area and more than 1,450 in the ambulance service area. In 2022, the total calls for service were 13,355. Bend Fire & Rescue has 91-line personnel who provide coverage from 6 fire stations. The International Association of Firefighters Local Union 227 represents all uniformed employees within the department and the position is FLSA non-exempt.
