On Friday July 22, 2016 at the annual conference in Springfield Missouri, the Officers of the Missouri Valley Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs took their oaths as the new Executive Board of the Missouri Valley Division. The Missouri Valley Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs is dedicated to supporting the professional development of its members through educational, leadership and networking opportunities while serving as liaison between state chief’s organizations and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. The Missouri Valley Division is comprised of the States of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The Missouri Valley Division has a Strategic Plan which is reviewed annually, which identifies current and emerging issues for Fire Chiefs and Departments. Among those are the Mental and Emotional Health & Welfare of line and staff personnel in the fire service, keeping members apprised of the impacts of the healthcare reform, promoting cultural inclusiveness and diversity in the fire service, and keeping the membership informed of the services and opportunities of membership in the Missouri Valley Division of the IAFC.
