Congressman Pete Stauber, R-Duluth, and Congressman Jared Golden, D-Maine, introduced legislation Tuesday, July 30, to ensure the infrastructure of fire stations across the nation allow firefighters to efficiently and safely perform their jobs.
The Fire Station Infrastructure Safety Act would direct the U.S. Fire Administration to create a report on the age and conditions of every fire station across the nation, so Congress can make more informed decisions in regard to infrastructure investments.
“In times of crisis, our nation’s heroic firefighters are first on the scene, ready to help and oftentimes, willing to put their own lives in danger to save others,” Stauber stated in a news release.
