According to the fire department, a man on a motorized wheelchair was hit by a vehicle at about 12:30 p.m. near Northwest 23rd Street and Meridian Avenue. The man was taken to a hospital, and firefighters figured out a way to bring his wheelchair to the nearby nursing home, so it will be there when he returns. Sky 5 was over the scene as a firefighter rode the wheelchair for about half a mile with a firetruck following closely behind. “Firefighter Matt Marshall was able to safely return the unit to Windsor Hills Nursing Home where it will be ready for the gentleman when he returns; hopefully soon,” fire officials said in a news release.
