The Office of State Fire Marshal hosted an event to show off their rig and the tools used to respond to hazardous material emergencies, including monitors that can detect radiation.
They say the monitor would be handy for big events such as the 2020 Olympic trials. The monitors can be set these up at an area and detect from a distance if there's anything in the air that they need to be aware of.
When it comes to preparations for the 2020 Olympic trials in Eugene the team says they've got it covered.
“We're ready for it” declared Eugene-Springfield Fire Battalion Chief Marcus Lay.
