VIDEO: Las Vegas Fire & Rescue (LVFAR) says a two-alarm fire destroyed a vacant wedding chapel and caused an estimated $1 million in damages Tuesday night. The building was located near the STRAT on South Las Vegas Boulevard. Authorities say several 911 calls were received reporting thick smoke coming from a “large white building” at 1431 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Some reports also indicated someone may have been inside the building, according to LVFAR. Ultimately, there were no injuries reported. Arriving crews observed thick smoke coming from the one-story building. Authorities say the structure was boarded up and appeared secured. At least 30 units and 70 personnel battled the fire at its most intense point. Responding fire crews came from Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County.
