Firefighters have safely extinguished a fire Wednesday at a two-story residential building in East Anchorage.
AFD Deputy Chief Erich Schuenemann said about a dozen units were sent just after 1 p.m. to the 300 block of Fern Lane, off Turpin Street near Boundary Road.
An all-clear had been called for the building, Scheunemann said, and no injuries were reported.
"Everyone who was present evacuated at the beginning," Scheunemann said.
Firefighters brought the interior fire under control 12 minutes after it was reported. Its origin and cause, as well as the extent of damages involved, were under investigation but the blaze wasn't considered suspicious.
