A house fire near Soldotna believed to have been caused by a failure of a propane-fueled hot water heater resulted in one person with non-life threatening injuries.
According to a post from Central Emergency Services Facebook page, fire crews got a call around 1:53 a.m. on Wednesday about a structure fire. 17 firefighters arrived to find a two-story home fully engulfed in flames.
According to the post, the fire was brought under control within 40 minutes, but responders stayed on the scene for the next two hours before departing.
In addition to the firefighters, Central Emergency Services says that a chief officer and one chaplain along with two engines, two tankers, two medic units and a squad helped put out the fire.
The house is considered a total loss, but Central Emergency Services says that the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent homes and buildings.
