A mobile home northeast of town was destroyed by fire Monday morning, according to fire officials.
Steese Volunteer Fire Department responded at 11:49 a.m. and found the structure more than 50 percent involved.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire, but the structure was a total loss due to smoke and other damage, according to Assistant Fire Chief David Daniel.
The trailer was being renovated for resale, and the owner had recently installed a new furnace. No one was living in the trailer at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
The trailer was located in a mobile home park near the intersection of Steese Highway and Chena Hot Springs Road. Crews were able to contain the fire to the trailer, and nearby structures were not damaged.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
