A 66-year-old Anchorage man has been arrested on charges of arson, assault, and attempted murder in connection to the firebombing of a Downtown Anchorage apartment building last Wednesday. According to Anchorage Police, APD and Anchorage Fire Department responded to a residence on Eagle Street near 4th Avenue downtown shortly after 2:00 a.m. last Wednesday in reference to a fire. Officers arriving on scene witnessed two citizens dragging an adult male victim from a burning apartment. APD says the adult male was the only person inside the apartment unit, and is expected to survive his injuries. Investigators determined that a relative of the victim's, 66-year-old Freddie Lee Fox, broke a window of the first-floor apartment unit from the outside and threw a burning object and an accelerant into the apartment and then fled the scene. On Friday, Fox was arrested on charges of attempted murder, arson, and assault.
