The house fire that caused classes at the nearby Nanwalek School to be cancelled on Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a teacher there. According to the Alaska State Troopers, the body inside the burned rubble is believed to be 50-year-old James Reinseth, who taught Kindergarten and first grade at the school since 2007. According to the trooper report, the department received a call shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday of a house on fire and fully engulfed in flames. Local firefighters responded and were able to put out the fire. The State Fire Marshal responded to the scene and discovered Reinseth's burned body in the debris. His next-of-kin have been notified and a death investigation is underway by the state troopers. The cause of the blaze was not disclosed.
