VIDEO: Authorities say a truck driver suffered “non-life-threatening injuries” after the semi they were driving went off the road and ended up in the Turnagain Arm water along the Seward Highway. According to Anchorage police, the semi-truck ran off the road around mile 82.5, just north of Twentymile River. No other vehicles were involved. The family of Travis Corgan confirmed with Alaska’s News Source that Corgan was the driver of the truck that went into the water. According to Girdwood Fire and Rescue, who were responsible for Corgan’s rescue, he was the only person in the semi-truck at the time of the crash. The truck was transporting empty fishing totes. Additionally, bad weather and the removal of a section of guardrail due to construction in the area are thought to have played a factor.
