VIDEO: A rough landing is something most air travelers dread, but for seven Alaska travelers, it was all they could hope for after their plane’s nose gear malfunctioned while coming into Anchorage.
“You can’t go anywhere; you can’t move,” said Roxy Meneguin, one of seven people aboard Tuesday’s Dena’ina Air flight piloted by Doug Ferguson. “So you don’t know what to expect.”
The Dena’ina Air passengers credit Ferguson for calmly handling the emergency crash landing and preventing injury.
“After 46 years, it’s like nothing,” Ferguson said. “You can’t think about it; if I sit there and thought about what could happen any day, I mean, it’d drive people crazy, it’d drive me crazy.”
The flight was slated to move through several villages to deliver supplies and pick up passengers.
