One person was killed another injured Tuesday morning after a house fire in Vestavia Hills. Police dispatched the Vestavia Fire Department at approximately 4:25 a.m. to a home in the 2900 block of Donita Court, Capt. Ryan Farrell said. The street is located in the city's Cahaba Heights area. Firefighters pulled two victims from the burning home but one of them was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim was transported to a nearby hospital. Donita Court was closed for several hours, but was reopened as of 6:25 a.m.
