Mobile Fire-Rescue units and Mobile Police responded to a commercial vehicle fire alongside Interstate 10 in Mobile Thursday morning. It was a Loomis armored truck that had caught fire. Around 8 a.m., firefighters were working to extinguish the fire -- apparently within the engine compartment or undercarriage of the vehicle. This was just outside the George C. Wallace tunnel exit on westbound I-10 in downtown Mobile. Traffic seemed minimally affected, with only one travel lane blocked by fire trucks. The armored truck was alongside the interstate on the shoulder.
