VIDEO: Several businesses were destroyed or damaged Monday night after a large fire broke out at a downtown restaurant in Moulton, according to officials.
Authorities responded to a fire around 8:10 p.m. at Court Street Grill in the Moulton square. According to officials, the fire started in the vacant, upstairs portion of the building and the temperature reached 1200 degrees making it difficult to put out.
Citizens from around Moulton were in the square all day Tuesday, looking at a historic area being demolished. Well-known places such as the Courthouse Diner, Deja Vu salon, and Tucker's Auto and Body Shop were just a few that were impacted.
Residents say they have very fond memories from this area, some since they were kids and they hope the city will rebuild.
Moulton Fire Chief Ryan Jolly says they have a plan in place going forward.
