An east Jefferson County woman died early Monday, three days after her bed caught fire at her Pinson-area home. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Debra Kay Mott. She was 54. Center Point firefighters and Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded to Mott’s home in the 4500 block of Spearman Road about 1:47 a.m. Friday. Fire officials said the blaze was contained to Mott’s bed, and appears to be accidental. Mott was taken to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Monday at 1:11 a.m.
