A Mobile man is alive thanks to the quick thinking of three of his co-workers and one life-saving tool.
Murray Vinson said, "He began to stagger a little bit. He braced himself on his desk and then he just collapsed on the floor and started gasping for breath. I knew something terrible is happening to him."
The men's co-worker was going into cardiac arrest. With former training through their job and the American Heart Association, they knew what to do.
They pulled out their company's Automated External Defibrillator, or AED, and it told them what to do next.
The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department said if the men weren't so quick on their feet, their co-worker wouldn't be alive and already recovering at home today.
Fire Chief Mark Sealy said, "Having civilians that are trained and willing to do rapid intervention and CPR and use an AED, that makes a big difference."
