A lightning strike caused a house to catch fire Saturday night, according to fire officials with both Harvest Volunteer Fire Department and Monrovia Volunteer Fire Department.
Harvest Volunteer Fire Department said five people were displaced by the fire, including two adults and three children.
Monrovia and Harvest Fire and Rescue crews said everyone should have a safety plan.
The family was in a safe place once they arrived and that's what saved them.
They advise that if there are severe thunder and lightning storms, find a room, preferably downstairs, where you can get out easily if necessary.
