Three people were hospitalized Thursday morning after they were injured in a flash fire. The industrial accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. at ABC Coke on Huntsville Avenue in Tarrant. Fire Chief Jason Rickels said they received the call at 8:08 a.m. and were on the scene at 8:12 a.m. A flash fire is a sudden, intense fire caused by ignition of a mixture of air and a dispersed flammable substance such as a solid, flammable or combustible liquid, or a flammable gas. Three workers – all males – were found with burn injuries to their chest, head and neck areas. None of the injuries are life-threatening, Rickels said. All three were taken to UAB Hospital.
