Hazardous materials crews and other firefighters were called to handle a chemical spill in Birmingham. The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service says hydrochloric acid spilled at a location on Roberts Industrial Drive in the Ensley area about 12:00 p.m. Friday. The BFRS says 120 gallons of the acid spilled from a crate in the back of a trailer. The chemical has been neutralized at this time, said the fire department. The acid can be used as an industrial chemical.
