The most recent fire was an electrical fire in the attic of one Wynne home. There were no injuries, but it took firefighters about 3 hours to put it out.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, space heaters account for 43 percent of U.S. home heating fires and 85 percent of associated deaths.

“Just distancing anything that could possibly catch on fire or possibly be a hazard to that is obviously the smartest thing to do. Anything from curtains, to blankets, to stuffed animals,” said Ward.
