VIDEO: As many as eight to 12 apartment units were damaged after a fast-moving fire spread through a common attic at the complex Monday afternoon, the Phoenix Fire Department said.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which started around 12:30 p.m. at the complex on 19th Avenue north of Bell Road, fire officials said.
Crews found fire coming from a second-story apartment, which quickly spread along a common attic that was not separated by fire walls, officials said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the large fire after getting hose lines into the surrounding apartments and the attic, the department said in a statement released after the fire.
