Three vans were destroyed in a fire Thursday afternoon in a Casa Grande junkyard, officials said. Firefighters from Regional Fire and Rescue and Casa Grande Fire Department responded to the fire that began about 2:30 p.m. in the rear of the yard at 10175 N. Pinal Ave. The fire was spotted by a Casa Grande fire marshal who was leaving his office on Val Vista Boulevard. Upon arrival he called for a city fire truck for the quickly spreading fire even though the facility is located outside city limits. Casa Grande firefighters doused the fire and turned the scene over to Regional Fire and Rescue. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, and there were no injuries.
