A 9-month-old baby who was unresponsive and lacking a pulse after being pulled from a bathtub Saturday in Phoenix is in extremely critical condition, fire officials say. Phoenix Fire Department responded around 3 p.m. to a home near 35th and Northern avenues for a reported drowning. Firefighters quickly began advanced life support on the child and were able to regain a pulse while heading to a nearby hospital, Capt. Rob McDade, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Fire Department, wrote in an email. He added that the child was in extremely critical condition by 4 p.m. Fire officials initially said the child was 8 months old but later clarified that the child was 9 months old.
