Two women were helped off Camelback Mountain in separate mountain rescues on Monday afternoon. Fire crews originally responded to Camelback Mountain for reports of a 39-year-old woman who had fallen on her way down and was injured, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. However, as crews were on the mountain for the first rescue, a park ranger found a second woman who was also injured. The second woman, around 20 years old, had also fallen and had some soft tissue injuries to her head area, the Phoenix Fire Department said. With assistance from a helicopter, the woman was rescued off Camelback Mountain and taken to a hospital for further evaluation. The 39-year-old woman from the first rescue has minor injuries and walked down the mountain with assistance from firefighters, the Phoenix Fire Department said. She was not transported.
