A cement truck rolled over on a freeway on-ramp in west Phoenix Monday morning, injuring the driver and sparking a hazmat situation. It happened shortly before 11 a.m. on the on-ramp to southbound Loop 101 at Camelback Road. Not only was the truck blocking the right lane, but it also was leaking fuel, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. DPS spokesman Raul Garcia said the driver initially was reported to be unconscious but was awake and talking to first responders minutes later. He was taken to the hospital. Aerial photos from the Arizona’s Family News Chopper showed the cement truck on its left side. A heavy-duty tow truck was called in to clear the scene. Garcia said crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Phoenix Police Department, and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
