Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash that left one man dead and sent five more people to the hospital. It happened Thursday shortly after 5:30 p.m. south of 43rd and Olive avenues. Police say witnesses saw a Honda Pilot pull out of a business and collide with a sedan that was heading south on 43rd Avenue. The impact caused the sedan to slam head-on into a northbound Chevy Tahoe. The man who was behind the wheel of the sedan, later identified as 41-year-old Scott Voelkel, died at the hospital, police said. The man who was driving the Tahoe and his three passengers sustained minor injuries. The man who was driving the Honda Pilot suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police. All five of them were taken to the hospital.
