Child killed, three others hurt in Phoenix apartment fire

VIDEO: A 4-year-old child was killed in an apartment fire in Phoenix early Sunday morning. Three other people, including a 10-year-old girl were seriously injured. According to Captain Todd Keller with the Phoenix Fire Department, the fire broke out before 5 a.m. at an apartment complex near 23rd and Dunlap avenues. Keller said when crews arrived they found a massive fire with people trapped on the second floor. "I saw smoke and the fire," Robert Tienda, who witnessed the apartment up in flames. "I've never seen anything like it." Firefighters were able to rescue three people, a man, woman and 10-year-old child through a second floor window. Firefighters said a 4-year-old child was found dead. The three who were rescued were taken to a local hospital.
