VIDEO: A hiker had to be rescued off Piestewa Peak on Sunday after falling 40 feet, and Phoenix firefighters captured the mission on video. Firefighters said the 49-year-old man was free climbing off the mountain trail shortly after 3 p.m. when he fell, fractured his arm and became unconscious. After about 10 minutes of being unconscious, the patient woke up and was able to call 911. A rescue helicopter airlifted him from the mountain to an area hospital. The hiker’s current condition is unknown.
