The Tucson Fire Department responded to a Midtown fire around 2 p.m. on Thursday, saving pets and assisting a 35-year-old mother and her 2-year old son. Per a press release from TFD, the crew arrived to a home near Grant Road and Swan Road after they recieved a call about smoke coming from the backside of a multi-unit home. Firefighters entered the home to discover no flames, but evaluated the mother and son for smoke inhalation, and rescued multiple pets alive, including: a dog, a ferret, and three cats. The resident and her son requested Red Cross care since they could no longer stay at their home. At this time, the origin, cause and damages are still to be determined by TFD.
