No serious injuries were reported after a vehicle caught fire in the carport of a condo in Sun City. Crews from Sun City, Peoria, El Mirage, Surprise, Glendale and Phoenix responded to a first-alarm condo fire around 7 a.m. near Peoria and 107th avenues. The Sun City Fire & Medical Department initially told the Daily News-Sun there were no injuries or fatalities, but later posted on Facebook that a firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Fire Marshal Jim Fox said the firefighter twisted an ankle and was taken for hospital observation. However, it appears any occupants were able to exit without harm. Two people were examined for smoke inhalation but were not transported.
