When firehouse subs officially opened its location in Maricopa five years ago, the franchise brought an eye toward community services along with its sandwiches.
Firehouse Subs supports first responders nationally and locally, through donations to a public safety foundation. In Arizona alone, the foundation has given back $142,727 to communities, even impacting the city of Maricopa.
A year after the franchise opened, the city received its first set of equipment in 2015, and again in 2018. The equipment includes all-terrain vehicles and lung compression tools. The vehicles alone cost about $28,000 to attain. “They see the need in the community and give back,” said John Beveridge, the owner and franchisee of the Maricopa location. “Any community can apply for assistance.”
