PHOTOS: Green Valley Fire District and Elephant Head Fire have redirected the airport fire but have not contained it yet. Earlier today, the first responders arrived at the scene and began trying to stop it from spreading to the surrounding structures that were believed to be in danger. The flames, now heading Northeast, span about eight to ten acres and and have not consumed any structures as of yet. Additional preventative measures are being taken given the high winds for today, and several other fire crews have been called in to help. Residents just north of the scene have been notified of the blaze, and drivers are strongly encouraged to keep an eye out for emergency vehicles on the I-19 as the smoke may reduce visibility.
